In a randomized crossover trial, 25 healthy participants ingested either a liposomal multivitamin/mineral or a non-liposomal multivitamin/mineral product. Blood analyses for iron and magnesium were conducted at baseline and every two hours for six hours. Iron levels were significantly increased in the liposomal multi compared with the non-liposomal. Magnesium levels were not significantly different (possibly due to the low amount of magnesium in each product). The researchers’ conclusion was that iron absorption from the liposomal multi is significantly enhanced by liposomal delivery technology.
